This is the Adventure Learning Bridge that we were able to build, thanks to a £10,000 donation from the Saffron Walden Herts & Essex Building Society. The bridge has been uniquely designed to enable young people with a wide range of difficulties to make their way across the river, which in turn will help build on their independence and self-esteem. |

Let’s Bridge the Gap ! |
|
Using funds raised from our 2003 Harlow College Charity Car Park, we were finally able to purchase this Hoening Duet Wheelchair tandem and a Hase Pino Recumbent tandem. We were also able to use a £2250 award from McDonalds to buy three 20” wheel, conventional tandem bicycles. In recognition of the funding, the bikes were named “Ronald”, “Grimace” and “Birdie” after characters created by the restaurant chain. In February 2004, the fleet received a further addition, a larger 26” tandem, which was purchased with funds raised at our Burns Night Ceilidh.

Special Bikes for Special Needs ! |

Not everything we do, revolves around funding. We have our own qualified activity instructors who assist the professionals in delivering outdoor activities to disadvantaged groups. This photograph shows a canoeing session for visually impaired young people from the Royal London Society for the Blind. |
