Who, Where, How ?

WHO ?

Active Works is a registered charity staffed by volunteers and qualified instructors.

WHERE ?

Active Works is based at the Harlow Outdoor Pursuits Centre in Burnt Mill, Harlow.

HOW ?

In addition to its other activities, Active Works uses the philosophy of Adventure Learning to provide the disadvantaged, primarily children (and their families) with the opportunity to benefit from outdoor pursuits.

Where else locally, can blind people abseil or the autistic canoe ?

This new found independence and confidence can improve the life skills of these individuals, sometimes drastically, helping them to grow and be better equipped for the future.

£1200 raised at "Burns Night Ceilidh"

Our annual ceilidh raised over £1200 on 4th February 2006.

As usual, guests were treated to live music, dancing and a supper of Haggis, "Neeps and Tatties". The funds raised will be used to provide outdoor activities  for young people with disabilities.
